Hi everyone, I’m Saralyn Hodgkin. And this is the podcast to practice your leadership.Let’s take a purposeful pause, everybody. For those of you who’ve been following along, we’ve been talking about growing still. And what is inner work? And what does it mean to dwell in discomfort? What does it mean to examine and get curious about the stories we tell ourselves? And what does that mean for our own healing? And over this series, there’s been a lot generated. And so let’s take this purposeful pause, or what I’ve also called let’s, let’s craft a reflection studio moment for you to be able to learn and integrate and calibrate everything that’s come your way into into something meaningful for you. So let’s, let’s hit it from the top. If you have your notebook, your sketchbook, your Google Doc, whatever it is, your your iPad, whatever it is, your markers, your special pen, everything handy. Just write as the first prompt, what did you learn? What did you learn? Just take a couple of moments and just jot down even just keywords right? From this growing still series, what did you learn? What did you learn? And then your second prompt starts to unfold that learning to look at the implications of that learning. So the prompt is, what are the implications? Let me, let me give you a bit of detail there. What are the implications for my learning?
What are the implications for my own inner work? What are the implications for my own growth? What are the implications for my unlearning? Because unlearning is work. What are the implications for my own leadership? And agency?
You might also have specific prompts here around what does it mean for me to dwell in discomfort? What does it mean for me to dwell in discomfort? Where do I need to do that? Right. Another prompt here is what are the stories I’m telling myself? What are the stories that I’m telling myself that I used to define my identity? And a sub question under that is, do those stories serve me? And then, lastly, in these prompts, what are the wounds that are being revealed? What are the wounds that are being revealed that, the wounds that I see within me? And possibly, what are the wounds that I see myself contributing to? What are those wounds? What are, what are places of healing that I need to pay attention to? What are places of healing that I need to pay attention to? I need to put some effort into, I might need to make connections for support from different places. What’s that look like for me? So if your main problems are, what did you learn? And what are the implications then? Lastly, it’s simply the question: now what? What do I do with all this? Right? So when you step back, and you look at everything that you’ve teased out here, now you’re going to carry this forward? What are you going to add to your leadership practice? And you may be tempted to come up with a whole list of 20 different things that you’re going to do differently. Could it also be reflecting on how you need to centre into being, centre into being, and as you reflect on all that, and you’ve generated some ideas and insights, I invite you to converge into just one commitment. Just one that you will either do or be in your leadership practice. Just one.
Thanks all, I’m Saralyn. You can find me at holonleadership.org. I walk alongside you as you practice your leadership.
